I think that most missionaries don't come up to me is the fact that they realize very fast that I know something about my religion. Thus, I am not their goal. What they are looking for are the weak Jews who don't know their own religion.

I don't know if you have heard about it but some Christian missionary organizations open soup kitchens in Jerusalem or elsewhere in order to convert the homeless. They do so in Tel Aviv for instance. In Ben Yehudah Street / corner Allenby - Mughrabi. There they have a center called DUGIT run by Jews for J. A former insider told me that the owners of Dugit receive plenty of Dollars from Christians in the US.

Not too far away, you find the Gilgal Hotel whose owner is obviously also one of those missionaries.

Furthermore, missionaries open youth clubs where they hand out New Testaments. In other words, they try sneaking in wherever they can. The latest favourite method is: Claiming that they are Jewish themselves.:-)

Well, some Jews may not know the difference but they cannot fool G - d !Miriam Woelkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07627379693165339825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451958387969081740.post-10276920063149380832012-10-26T10:18:40.135+02:002012-10-26T10:18:40.135+02:00BS"D
I agree. I've heard them claim "...BS"D
I agree. I've heard them claim "they're happy" and we don't look so much so, but really why wouldn't they be? They've only got 7 mitzvot! 613 is a lot of responsibility, thank you very much.

One really is irksome is that most of us from the US,etc are so thoroughly familiar with Xtians that we SENSE them. The dangerous thing is that Israelis don't. They haven't that background to know and recognize them and i'm learning they're very vulnerable to these slippery missionaries.

Miriam, have you encountered the "Jews" who present themselves as fairly observant but really are Jews for J? I am completely unprepared for this, actually, and the thought of JEWS trying to seduce other Jews to become Xtians is really the worst. If a lady from Nebraska or S. Carolina comes along and I know she's just a plain ol American Protestant or whatever, at least I know what I'm dealing with. I'm not SURPRISED at her efforts, but offended. While a JEW? There's a saying, "Hashem protect me from my friends - from my enemies I can protect myself!"

Note: Do report any incidents you encounter to Yad L'Achim - they have a 24 hr hotline. Thanks G - d that more and more Chassidim are moving there.

Although the ordinary population doesn't go too much for the missionary stuff, it still bothers seeing all those "smiling" faces running around and feeling sorry for the Jews "who just don't understand". This really drives me nuts !Miriam Woelkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07627379693165339825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451958387969081740.post-17717285015083204182012-10-22T23:14:42.560+02:002012-10-22T23:14:42.560+02:00Having recently moved to TIberias, i'm shocked...Having recently moved to TIberias, i'm shocked and saddened about how prevelent they are and how sneaky! I met a nice woman, dressed as a liberally observant Jew, within 5 minutes talked about how i have to beware of jews that aren't... then found her FB FULL of messianic nonsense.

kol hakavod for your post and I am sharing on my facebook, and perhaps our yeshivah website, with the rav's approval.Rabbanit Ruth Alfasihttp://www.yeshivathamekubalim.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1451958387969081740.post-60950143578990516522012-09-22T23:05:59.222+03:002012-09-22T23:05:59.222+03:00B"H
