The police are investigating but the national religious Rabbi Mordechai (Motti) Elon is not ashamed of himself to publically search for a second career. A second career after his scandal running through the Israeli press more than half a year ago.
Elon is accused of having homosexual relations with some of his students in the past. Those students claim that it was not their intention having sexual relations with their Rabbi but Motti Elon simply exploited the situation for his own perversion purposes. Now he is giving public lectures again and many of his followers seem to behave as if nothing has ever happened. Yesterday, Rabbi Elon visited the former Sephardi Chief Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef and the secular press went wild. Obviously Elon is searching for publicity and makes it look as if famous Rabbis are on his side. After an uproar, sources close to Rabbi Yosef said that Rabbi Elon showed up and shook hands but this doesn't mean at all that Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef is on his side let alone supports sexual perversion.
It always upsets me when I hear about some famous Rabbis and their sexual misbehaviour. At the moment, Israel's secular press is also reporting about a haredi Rabbi from the girl's school "Michlelet Yerushalaim" (in the Bait Vagan neighbourhood) who apparently abused a teenage student and where the school tried to keep the scandal secret.
Especially this week where we read "Parashat Noach". As we know from Talmud Sanhedrin, in the days of Noach, people had sexual relations with animals. In those days, the DNA of living beings used to be very different and this caused animals or humans to get pregnant from the other sex. You can imagine how G - d's creation looked after a human woman became pregnant from an elephant. My personal opinion is that the Flood came due to this reason: Mankind messed up G - d's creation !
Back to the "Elon - Case: I don't understand why the national religious movement has not yet been able to officially ban Rabbi Motti Elon. What about the victims ? It looks like Elon doesn’t care at all; neither about the victims nor about the police investigation.
Ironic remark:
I hope that Elon hasn't touched Ovadiah Yosef but, at least there, kept his hands in his pockets !
