Psak Rabbi Yosef Shalom Eliyashiv: "Who has to pay for the elevator !"

B”H

Another case was brought to Rabbi Yosef Shalom Eliyashiv where five people came to him in order to ask the following:

Four people stood in an elevator, as suddenly a fifth person came and asked if he can get on. The four warned him that the elevator may get stuck but the fifth person insisted on getting on.

Sure enough the elevator got stuck and a repair service had to come.

The question for Rabbi Eliyashiv:
Who actually has to pay the repair costs ? The four people who had been in the elevator first claimed that it was he fifth guy’s fault that the elevator got stuck and, therefore, he has to pay the bill. The fifth person, however, wanted to divide the bill among all five people who were in the elevator.

Rabbi Eliyashiv’s answer:

The person who actually pushed the button and started the elevator has to pay the bill and thus, it doesn’t matter whether it is the fifth or the first person. The elevator got stuck because a person pushed the button causing the elevator to carry out its job.

Psak Rabbi Yosef Shalom Eliyashiv: "The Driver has to Pay !"

B”H

He is 101 years old but his mind hasn’t lost its sharpness. Rabbi Yosef Shalom Eliyashiv has announced a new rabbinic decision which sounds quite interesting. At least it may concern many car drivers and this is the reason why I am publishing his Beit Din case.

An important follower of the Litvishe Rabbi Yosef Shalom Eliyashiv was driving in his car when he decided to pick up a hitchhiker. After getting on the car, the driver asked the hitchhiker to put on the seat belt. The hitchhiker delayed putting on the belt but the car owner had already started the journey. At this very moment, a policeman stopped the car. The cop gave a 500 Shekel (approx. 140 Dollar) fine to the driver for having a passenger without the required seat belt in the car. The driver, on the other hand, was terribly upset, as it was the hitchhiker’s fault and not his. Therefore, the driver asked his passenger for the 500 Shekels in return but the hitchhiker refused giving him the money.

They two went to Rabbi Eliyashiv and asked for his advice and here is his answer:

The law requests that every car passenger has to put on a seat belt and, therefore, the driver in our case should have not started his car while the hitchhiker was delaying the seat belt procedure. Because the driver didn’t wait until his passenger finally put on his seat belt but started driving off immediately, the driver has to pay the fine.

Yoelish Kroisz sold old Neturei Karta Pashkevilim

B"H

It seems that Yoelish Kroisz, one of the two Neturei Karta leaders in Mea Shearim, needs some cash because he just handed over old Neturei Karta and Mea Shearim Pashkevilim to the archives of Jerusalem's "Jewish National Library" located on the Givat Ram University Compound.

For some time already, Yoelish Kroisz as well as Rabbi Shmuel Pappenheim (Toldot Aharon) have been openly dealing with Zionist representatives as well as secular journalists and writers. Maybe some writers even pay those guys and money is always important. The "good old" Neturei Karta doesn't seem to care anymore and even goes into business with the "Zionist" National Library.

Do not reach out for something which is not yours !

B"H

In Germany, it has been quite popular for Gentiles to present or introduce themselves as "Jewish". This kind of behaviour cannot be called a "sport" or "fun" but those non - Jewish Germans presenting themselves as Jewish are serious. At the very moment they are telling their environment that they are Jewish, they even believe it themselves.

Not only once I have witnessed it in Israel: Suddenly a German tourist claims that he may be Jewish but he has no papers. The claim is mostly a lie and mainly used by Christian missionaries. However, regarding the German false "Jews", people make the Jewish claim for two reasons:

1. They are really Christian missionaries and try convincing their environment of their false Jewish identity.

2. Having a bad concience regarding the Holocaust and in order to get rid of it, some Germans take the role of the Jewish "victim". Thus, creating a different identity and, at the same time, getting rid of the role as a "murderer".

It may sound strange to foreigners but it is extremely hard to describe German behaviour in regard to the Holocaust.

A Christian making the claim to be Jewish is not necessarily a German problem but is being used by all kinds of Christian missionaries. How many times have I met Christian tourists in Jerusalem who suddenly announced that they were actually Jewish ? They don't have any documents nor were their ancestors Jewish but they have a "feeling".

When I hear those false claims from Germans or international Christians I am immediately thinking of a certain Talmud teaching where it says that "One should not reach out for something which isn't his". Meaning that G - d is running the world and it is Him deciding which person is reaching a special task in life. The Talmud, for instance, gives King David's son, Avshalom, as an example. Avshalom was striving for a position which was not meant to be his but the one of his father. This is why Avshalom could not be king and, in the end, died.  The same happened to Korach who rebelled against Moshe. Also here we see that Korach was not meant to be the leader of the Jews but only Moshe. Therefore Korach failed.

It is important that we realize our own capacities and do not reach out into other fields for tasks we are not able to fulfill. A Jew is not only a Jew but, as Kabbalists and the Alter Lubavitcher Rebbe in his book TANYA stressed: "A Jew has a Jewish soul and therefore also different tasks in this world". A Jew has the task to correct this world (Tikun Olam) and his own soul (Tikun) by fulfilling Mitzvot and walking in the way of G - d. Through certain actions, a Jew can cause something in this world wheras a Gentile has totally different tasks. He cannot take over the tasks of the Jews, as he is not meant to do so unless he is converting to Judaism.

G - d created Jews and Gentiles and each of the two groups have their own tasks in life. Obviously G - d wants Jews and Gentiles, otherwise He would have only created Jews or only Gentiles. If the Christians stuck to their own tasks and weren't constantly intruding the Jewish world, we would get along much better.

AHAD HA'AM

B"H

The "true" Zionism for me is the Zionist interpretation of the AHAD HA'AM, Asher Zvi Hirsh Ginsberg (1856 - 1927). Everybody just jumping onto Theodor (Benjamin Ze'ev) Herzl and seeing in him THE great true Zionist is completely wrong. Herzl was definitely not the best person as we can see HERE !

The Ahad Ha'Am, on the other hand, is called the founder of "Cultural Zionism" whereas Theodor Herzl only stood for the "Political Zionism". Asher Ginsberg grew up in a chassidic home but, later in his life, criticized the dogmatic Orthodox Judaism although he remained loyal to his heritage. According to him, the Zionist movement should return to the HEBREW language. Just as a comparison: Theodor Herzl was planning a Jewish state with GERMAN as the main language. Furthermore, the Ahad Ha'Am visionized a JEWISH STATE and not only a STATE FOR THE JEWS, as Herzl did.

Moreover, Asher Ginsberg considered maintaining the Jewish heritage as extremely important in a Jewish State. He died in Tel Aviv in 1927 and thus, unfortunately, never saw the future Jewish state. Apparently he wouldn't have liked it too much, as, until today, it is rather a State for the Jews instead of a really proud Jewish State.

The Ahad Ha'Am is buried on the famous Tel Aviv Trumpeldor Cemetery where I found his grave today. Almost every place in Israel has an Ahad Ha'Am Street but Asher Ginsberg himself is not too known anymore. A real pity, as he represents a more positive ideology on Zionism than Herzl ever did.

Today: The Lubavitcher Rebbe in 770

B"H

Chabad - Meshichistim rule over the house of the seventh and last Lubavitcher Rebbe in Crown Heights; the famous 770. Until today, they say that Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson didn't pass away but just became invisible. At the moment, he is waving around in the upper spheres and our worldly eyes are not able to grasp him until he is coming back in order to reveal himself as Meshiach.

Because the Rebbe never died but vanished from our eye - sight (according to the Chabad Meshichistim), he still lives in 770 and does business as usual. This is the reason why the Meshichistim expect the Rebbe downstairs for his prayer service. Every day, the doors in 770 are still being opened for the Rebbe to pass.

This video shows a crowd of Chassidim inside 770 awaiting the Rebbe for his daily prayer service. Look very carefully and for two seconds (10 - 12) you will see the Lubavitcher Rebbe photoshoped into the video.

"Marching towards Israel" - The Arab World celebrating its national Day of Terror

All Pictures HERE !

B”H

“Next year on Nakba Day we will be back and then we are coming with guns !”, this is what a Syrian Nakba demonstrator said to an Israeli journalist.

The entire day, Israeli TV channels have been reporting live from the Nakba events throughout the country and its borders. NAKBA stands for a "Catastrophe Day" when you look at the Arab point of view. On 15 May 1948, according to the Gregorian calendar, the State of Israel was founded and the Arab world has been commemorating this date ever since. Mainly with violent demonstrations and terror.

This year, Arab terror groups had been advertising a "March towards Israel". Going to the border and storming into Israel. This was the goal, as we read on Facebook or watch on Youtube. Even Israeli TV journalists who are usually left - wing, admitted that the Arab world is following one goal: The total destruction of the State of Israel. Peace ? Hardly anyone is interested but getting rid of the Jews is the highest priority. Only some leftists and the outside world keeps on dreaming about peace but what we have to be aware of is reality. Only one person seemed to be very realesed today: The Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, as finally his people were concentrating on something else but him.

Hundreds of Syrian demonstrators as well as Palestinians succeeded in infiltrating onto Israeli territory at Madjal Shams on the Golan Heights. The Israeli press has already been asking the question how this could have happened. An army speaker, however, claims that the entire Nakba activities were organized by Iran.

Those Syrian demonstrators infiltrating got until the border fence where they threw stones. In the end, the Israeli shot as a warning and the demonstrators eventually moved backwards and returned to Syria.

The same picture at the border to Lebanon where the Israeli army shot a Lebanese guy trying to climb over the border fence. Hizbollah had its day today ! A Lebanese TV channel got confused when they heard shots at the fence. First the channel claimed that the Israeli army shot but eventually had to admit that it was the Lebanese army shooting, as we see in the following video:

"Traffic Accident" or "Terror Attack" in Tel Aviv ?

B”H

One person dead and 18 injured, this is the tragic result of a terror attack in Tel Aviv this morning.  The Palestinian truck driver claimed that he lost control over his vehicle and thus drove into cars and people in the street.
Location of the tragedy: Tel Aviv – South, Neighbourhood Shechunat HaTikwah.

The police are still investigating whether the incident was a traffic accident or a terror attack.

Chabad - Meshichistim Videos

B"H

Someone sent me the link to this 770 video where some Chabad - Meshichistim have a huge fight with each other. My question is whether anyone can provide a background story.

Almost three years ago, I went to a lecture about Chabad and the lecturer showed us a short video how the Meshichistim in 770 (Crown Heights) prepare the Rebbe House for the Rebbe's prayer service. While still alive, the Rebbe used to come downstairs for his prayers. Until today, the Meshichistim inside 770 still open the doors; just as if the Rebbe was still coming downstairs and walking into his Beit Midrash.

The video we saw at the lecture showed the Meshichistim opening the doors and singing. Suddenly a short glimpse of the Rebbe appeared. We could see him as a kind of ghost on the video in the middle of his Chassidim. Of course it was a photoshop but I would like to know whether this particular video is available on Youtube.
