Fasting for Rain
B"H
The anti - Zionist umbrella organization "Edah HaCharedit" declared a public fast day for this upcoming Thursday !
This winter has been the worst one for many years.
In the years before, it hardly rained but this year, almost no rain drop fell.
The water situation in Israel is desastrous and if it doesn't rain within the next few weeks, the Kinneret is going to continue to dry out. The Israeli government is already planning to import water from Turkey.
In the Land of Israel we depend on G - d and our prayers to Him. Therefore, the Edah HaCharedit declares this Thursday also as a "Day of Prayer" and we should cry out to heaven. All of us should to Teshuva (repent) in order to receive G - d's mercy (Rachamim).
Furthermore, the Edah is giving some reasons for what the members think may cause G - d withholding the rain. Prostitution (immodest behaviour) or wearing immodest clothes, for instance.
The Pakshivili (poster) is signed by several Edah members such as Rabbi Yitzchak Tuvia Weiss, Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch, Rabbi Me'ir Brandsdorfer, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ullman, and others.

I think people should be particularly disturbed with trying to get water from Turkey--they are currently against Israel! On the other hand, does anyone realize that they have a huge new golf course in Ceasarea!! Talk about a waste of water! I think we should pray the government cuts off the pipes for foolishness like that. After all--how many normal people have access to a high-brow golf course?

ReplyDeleteDon't worry ! Water will be limited soon. At the moment, the Israelis are still calm and try to forget about the situation but in spring it may change and people have to realize that they are running out of water resources.
