Polish Jews in 1939

Comment on Youtube: Beautiful film and proof to the fact that Jews were not persecuted in Poland before 1939. Since 1330 years the Jews have the right to live in peace and tolerance in Poland. Prior to 1939 (German invasion) lived in Poland for more than 3 million Jews (9% of the population), after the war (1945) survived only 100 000.

Poland is not a perfect country, but the Jews through the centuries when they were persecuted in the West Europe and in Russia they found refuge in the Polish kingdom.

70 years ago: How the Jews of Cracow commemorated the Yahrzeit of the "REMA"

B"H

The Israeli haredi online Site "Chadrei HaCharedim" is running this interesting photo series: How Polish Jews came to Cracow seventy years ago in order to commemorate the Yahrzeit of the Rema, Rabbi Moshe ben Israel, 1520 - 1573.

See all photos HERE !

If one imagines that those pictures were taken just before the Holocaust. It always make me shiver when I look at old pictures where I know that most of the Jews I see were probably killed by the Nazis.
