The original Breslover Chassidim from Mea Shearim

B"H

Today, too many people make the mistake considering the new Breslover movements like the jumping and dancing Nanas (Na Nach Nachma Nachman Me'Uman) or the Baalei Teshuva students of Rabbi Eliezer Berland, Rabbi Shalom Arush and Rabbi Lazer Brody, as THE Israeli Breslovers. The original Breslovers, however, live in the Mea Shearim area where they have their Synagogue in Mea Shearim Street. These "real ones" don't want to have anything to do with the "wanna be" Berland or Arush, let alone the Nanas.

Here is a video about the Breslov life in Mea Shearim. The song you will hear is a Russian gypsy song.

  1. I remember going to their Mea Shearim synagogue for the reading of the book of Esther--most awesome. Thanks for educating us on the many facets of charedim. Maybe through education Jews will learn to respect each other!
