New Pakshivilim are hanging out in Mea Shearim and in the nearby Ge'ulah neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
Every time Bachurei Yeshiva (Yeshiva Students) go on a holiday (e.g. Chol HaMoed Pessach or Sukkot and Purim), some of them are using the opportunity to travel to places like Tiberias. And Tiberias has, as we know, a beach.
Rashe'i Yeshivot (heads of the Yeshivot) are afraid that those students tend to act immodestly. Bathing and maybe alcohol and drugs. The poster is a call for more modesty !
Tomorrow (Thursday) at 4.30pm (time according to daylight changing), another modesty demonstration is taking place. Not really to much demonstrating but rather prayer. More modesty on public buses !
Location: At the square in front of Olam Zhvil (Zhvil Hall).
The poster is signed by:
Rabbi Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg,
Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach,
Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer,
Rabbi Yitzchak Sheiner and others.

ReplyDeleteWell, my spelling is also not what you would call perfect.:-)

ReplyDeletewhat about mishkenos haroim ? are there baalei tshuva who join them ?

ReplyDeleteSomeone from Boyan once told me that the Mishkenot HaRoim usually do not accept anyone from the outside. The Boyaner knows the scene a little, as the Mishkenot Rebbe Chaim Rabinovitch has a Boyaner family.
If I was you, I would ask one of the Toldot Aharon Chassidim. I am sure they know whereas when I would ask the women, they definitely won't have information. Except for the Toldot Aharon Rebbitzen.
Another thing you could do is start going regularly to the Mishkenot shul.
