Will there be further Demonstrations ?

B"H

Jerusalem's "Karta" parking lot has even reached New York, as haredi demonstrations are also taking place there now. In Jerusalem, however, the Edah HaCharedit is limiting its demonstration against the parking lot opening on Shabbat.

After the past violent demonstrations, the Edah decided that this upcoming Shabbat, demonstrations are only going to take place in Mea Shearim. No young Haredim are allowed to participate in order to limit further violence.

According to the Israeli secular radio channel "Reshet Beit", the Edah HaCharedit seems to get the message that they are loosing control. Younger Haredim don't always listen to their Rabbis and start being violent towards the police.

The haredi party "Yahadut HaTorah" is complaining that neither mayor Nir Barkat nor the Minister of Internal Security Affairs, Yitzchak Aharonovitch, have been participating in any negotiations. It seems like no one is interested in finding a solution.

It is not yet clear if the Edah is continuing with its demonstrations beyond Shabbat Ki Tavo.

  1. Yes, Satmar made a terrible chilul Hashem here today in New York protesting at the Israeli consulate, with signs and speeches, even in English, so everyone in the neighborhood could learn about the barbaric nature of the Israeli government. All they did was add more fuel to the fire at those who hate Israel.

Someone was asking me yesterday, if I know a solution to the demonstration problem. I definitely have none. No one seems to have any.

At the moment, the Edah is demonstrating about anyone and anything. You breathe and there will already be a demonstration.

Look at the incident of the "Zephania Hotel" where the "Zionist" police wanted to take out the dead body of the Jew stabbed. Has anyone in the neighbourhood ever thought about helping a person from the "Zephania Hotel". The place is for junkies and alcoholics, and no one has ever cared. Suddenly there is such a fuss about it.

It just looks like a power demonstration. Who has the great power in the neighbourhood. The police or certain Haredim.
