Mercaz Harav in JerusalemB"H
The national religious Yeshiva MERCAZ HARAV in Jerusalem's Kiryat Moshe neighbourhood is having a Hachnasat Sefer Torah (introduction of a new Torah scroll) celebration tomorrow (Tuesday).
Officially the even is taking place (2 June 2009 / 10 Sivan 5769) in honour of Rabbi Avraham Elkana Kahana Shapira z"l. Before he passed away, Rabbi Shapira used to be the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel as well as Rosh Yeshiva of Mercaz HaRav.The event is starting at 7.30pm.
