Haredim bashing Themselves

Alley in Nachlaot

B"H

Nachlaot is a nice little neighbourhood right next to Jerusalem's Machane Yehudah Market. Americans, Israelis, Ashkenazim, Sepharadim, secular, religious, Carlebach, Hippie, whatever you like. Nachlaot's inhabitants are a huge mixture. Further at the side, there is a haredi part and it looks like some Haredim discovered the neighbourhood due to its cheaper rents. However, for many months I keep on hearing "Schabbes, Schabbes" screams about one hour before Shabbat ends. Some Haredim gather in Agrippas Street and yell at any car passing.

Yesterday, the seventh day of Pessach was one of the worst screaming days. About two hours before the holiday ended, several Haredim yelled. Nachlaot is not a haredi neighbourhood and passing cars don't disturb the haredi part at all. Don't people have anything better to do on a sunny holiday but standing at a street to yell at cars ? What about their families ? Don't those fanatic guys don't be with their children and wife ?

It looks like it has become a fashion yelling in Agrippas Street on Shabbat. Even three minutes before Shabbat ends. And I must say that it is a pity for the neighbourhood because, so far, all kinds of Jews have been living together peacefully.
