Rabbi Michel Yehudah Lefkowitz passed away

The town of Bnei Brak near Tel Aviv has its own great Torah scholars and Rabbis. Among others, the litvishe Ponivezh Yeshiva is one of the most famous study places in town. A student doesn't just join Ponivezh but has to have a certain background in Jewish studies and strong haredi family roots. Those studying there cannot be modern and usually don't participate in watching movies or any other modern - Orthodox Shtick.

Only a few days ago, on 27th June,  Rabbi Michel Yehudah Lefkowitz, one of the heads of Ponivezh passed away and more than 100,000 people came to his funeral.
