The Jewish world is celebrating Lag Ba'Omer (the 33rd day of the Omer counting) and this Saturday night, thousands of Jews will be lighting the traditional bonfires. Especially around the grave of the Talmudic Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron / Northern Israel. The haredi world, in particular, has been reporting about Lag Ba'Omer for the past two weeks or so and for Haredim, the holiday is extremely important.
