Jewish Orthodoxy and the Holocaust, Part 2

After the Holocaust, most Jews were definitely glad to get their own state, the present State of Israel. Throughout my life, I have been glad that there exists a Jewish state where Jews are able to find shelter in case of severe anti - Semitism. If a State of Israel had already existed during the Third Reich, things may have looked very different and we wouldn't have lost six million Jews.

Living in Galut (the Diaspora), I have always been very much in favour of Israel. The first time I came to Israel was in 1987, and I started my "career" as a Kibbutz volunteer. You think that, as a tourist in Israel, you are getting to know real Israeli life in a Kibbutz but this assumption is wrong. I found that out when I moved to Tel Aviv in 1995. In a Kibbutz you are a kind of protected and have your firm daily schedule but living in the city is far more challenging. Earning money, paying bills, a new social life ...

Still I was excited and very much in favour of our country. I still am but things have changed.
I learnt a lot about Israeli history and society and I am not following blindly any ideas. This is happening when you learn Hebrew, speak the language and get to know "real" society. When you listen to the Hebrew media. When you read Hebrew books and do anything in Hebrew. Opinions and society issues, no English speaking media in Israel mentions because they simply don't know. You want to know Israel, then speak Hebrew. Otherwise you are stuck with your tourist ideas !

Of course, the Hebrew press is publishing hundreds of soldier stories these days. Tomorrow night (Sunday) starts the annual "Yom Hazikaron - Memorial Day for the Israeli Fallen Soldiers". There will be a siren at 8pm in the evening and a second siren sound on Monday morning 11am. "Yom Hazikaron" concerns all of us and some Israelis regard it as more important, as emotionally stronger, than the Holocaust Memorial Day last Monday. Why ? Because Israel is an army. Hardly anyone has not been a soldier but the soldiers themselves don't regard everything happening in the army as so "great", as outsiders may think. Many soldiers don't glorify their army lives and I am going to write about this subject very soon.

When you live in Israel and follow the Hebrew speaking news, you will become very aware of what is happening in this country. Who is with whom in the Knesset, which company owner is associated with which politician, the influence of important lawyers and judges, the role of the Supreme Court and why a certain judge becomes the head of the Supreme Court. What Rabbi is influencing political decisions, the role of Israeli artists and the mafia. The bad history of the national religious movement and why their Rabbis first announce certain statements and then escape. The history of David Ben Gurion, stolen Yemenite children and the war between the Haganah / Palmach and Lechi / Etzel. How people like Ben Gurion and Rabin turned in their own people to the British.

Today most Israelis celebrate their "Yom Ha'azma'ut - Independence Day" (starting on Monday night - Tuesday) as many Americans celebrate 4th July: With a barbecue outside in the garden or in parks. Israel's Independence Day has become the national "Barbecue" or "Grill - (Hebrew) Mangal" Day. Of course, there are some shows. An airforce show at the Tel Aviv beach and the huge public event on Kikar Rabin in Tel Aviv on Monday night. Broadcasted live all over the country. Let alone the annual "Bible Contest" also broadcasted live on TV. Nevertheless, Independence Day means nature trips and barbecue. Jerusalem's Sacher Park will be packed and so will be the beach in Tel Aviv as well as the Hayarkon Park.

Personally I am glad that there is a State of Israel but, as we all know, I am aware of the fact that this is not it. Meshiach isn't here yet but, at least, the Jews have a place. On the other hand, I don't glorify everything I see. I don't glorify our army and I don't glorify our society. In a way, many Israelis celebrate their own Independence Day. The Great Synagogue in Jerusalem is usually hosting a national religious event. A Synagogue service with choir and saying HALLEL. Afterwards the national religious "elite" is having its holiday dinner.

The Neturei Karta will have its usual flag burning in Mea Shearim. First they call the Zionist press and then they start lighting the matches. Many other Haredim, especially the Edah members, follow business as usual and send their children to school on Tuesday. Nevertheless, many shops in the Mea Shearim / Ge'ulah neighbourhood will still be closed on Tuesday.

The present State of Israel - YES but each of us should be aware of the fact that this state if not our final goal. And those of you looking for nice and interesting Independence Day events have to come to Tel Aviv. Jerusalem doesn't know how to organize and celebrate but the history of Zionism and the foundation of the State of Israel in 1948 will be presented at the original historical places in Tel Aviv. At the house of David Ben Gurion in Sderot Ben Gurion or at the building where Ben Gurion announced the State of Israel at the Rothschild Boulevard.

Tomorrow night, Yom Hazikaron, a special memorial event is going to take place at Kikar Rabin in Tel Aviv. The big Independence Day show including fireworks will be taking place on Monday night after 8pm.

  1. Here is a very good analogy used by the Satmar Rov to explain why Israel is seen by many as being a shelter for the Jews and why many people think that things would have been worse if there wasn't the State of Israel, while the truth is, for whoever have studied the true, dark, violent, cruel and antisemtic history of Zionism, that it's the Zionists who worsened the situation before, during and after WWII to assure the creation and the existence of the state which has nothing to do with any miracle from G-d.

Here is the analogy: There was a man who wanted to get revenge on someone who lived in his town (let's call him Levy)). So he hired another person, and told him to reduce Levy to ruins, but not to let Levy know who was behind it. So this hired man knew that Levy was very involved in the mitzvah of hachnosas orchim. So the hitman disguised himself as a peasent, and appeared at Levy's house, asking to be taken in. Levy readily agreed and allowed this person a room and board at his house. When Levy and his family went to sleep, the hit man woke up, and started a fire in the house, then went back into his room and pretended to be asleep. Pretty soon, Levy was up and waking his family up, shouting and trying to stop the fire from literally destroying all of his earthly posessions. This hitman then pretended to have been roused from his sleep, and then set about saving a few small things from the conflagration (since he knew how it was burning, given that he had started it himself). When Levy made it to shul the next day, he told his friends about the gevaldige mitzvah of hachnosas orchim... how if he hadn't taken in the guest, all of his things would have been lost, and how this guest had managed to save a few things with which Shimon hoped to rebuild.

The analogy for whoever knows how the Zionists behaved to have their state is self understanding, and no need to expand.

  3. Although Zionists and others dispute it, the undeniable fact is that revolutionary secular and apostate elements in the Jewish community in Europe contributed greatly to hostility towards Jews after World War I. This aroused hatred of Jews in general among many non-Jews. While a prisoner in 1924 in the fortress of Lansberg on the River Lech, Hitler wrote his Mein Kampf. When he became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, he was assisted by Goebbels, Roseberg and Streicher. From them came the declarations, “The Jews of Germany caused the defeat of Germany in the 1914-1918 war; the Jews of Germany were responsible for the terrible conditions in Germany that followed the war; the Jews of Germany are foreigners and they wish to remain foreigners; they have no loyalty to the country of their birth; they are not human; they are filthy dogs; they have no right to intrude into Germany’s affairs; there are too many Jews in Germany.

As far as Zionism is concerned, the founder of Zionism and apostate, Theodor Herzl, sought to intensify hatred of the Jew in order to enhance the cause of political Zionism. Here are some of his “pearls”:

“It is essential that the sufferings of Jews. . . become worse. . . this will assist in realization of our plans. . .I have an excellent idea. . . I shall induce anti-semites to liquidate Jewish wealth. . . The anti-semites will assist us thereby in that they will strengthen the persecution and oppression of Jews. The anti-semites shall be our best friends”. (From his Diary, Part I, pp. 16)
Additional words from the vivid imagination of this dreamer, from p. 68 of Part I of his Diary.

So anti-Semitism, which is a deeply imbedded force in the subconscious mind of the masses, will not harm the Jews. I actually find it to be advantageous to building the Jewish character, education by the masses that will lead to assimilation. This education can only happen through suffering, and the Jews will adapt.

Hateful views of Jews as being subhuman did not have to be invented by Nazi theorists such as Hitler, Goebbels, Rosenberg and Streicher. This ideology was simply adapted from statements of political Zionists such as those found in the writings of the Zionist Yehezkel Kaufman in 1933.

  4. Jacob Klatzkin, the second of two political Zionist ideologists in Germany at the time, began a compaign destined to arouse hatred toward Jews in Germany where the Jews of Germany were enjoying full political and civil rights. It was he who had advocated undermining Jewish communities as the one certain way of acquiring a state. “They had no qualms concerning tearing down the existing Jewish communities.”

Who spoke in a public address at a political Zionist meeting in Berlin and declared that “Germany… has too many Jews”? Was it Hitler or Goebbels? No, it was Chaim Weizman, later to become the first President of the State of Israel. This address was published in 1920, and, thus, four years before Hitler had even written Mein Kampf.

In addition to Hitler, Rosenberg, Goebbels and Streicher, many other Nazi leaders used statements from Zionists to validate their charges against the Jews of Germany. Such are the efforts of Zionist leaders to this very day to maintain a high degree of anti-semitism in order to enable them, in feigned horror, to then point to anti-semitism to support their idolatrous and anti-Jewish cause. In 1963, Moshe Sharett, then Chairman of the Jewish Agency, told the 38th Annual Congress of the Scandinavian Youth Federation that the freedom enjoyed by the majority of Jews imperiled Zionism, and at the 26th World Zionist Congress, the delegates were told that the Jew is endangered by the easing of anti-Semitism in the United States “We are endangered by freedom” he declared.

  5. During World War II, the Lehi organization, an offshoot of Begin’s Irgun that was headed by Yitzchak Shamir sought an alliance with Nazis! The following is a quote from the writings of the Lehi in their contact with the Nazis:

"The establishment of the historical Jewish state on a national and totalitarian basis and bound by a treaty with the German Reich would be in the interests of strengthening the future German position of power in the Near East ... The NMO in Palestine offers to take an active part in the war on Germany's side ... The cooperation of the Israeli freedom movement would also be in line with one of the recent speeches of the German Reich Chancellor, in which Herr Hitler stressed that any combination and any alliance would be entered into in order to isolate England and defeat it."
To those who assume that Zionists have been on the side of freedom and equality, these words seem strange. However, to those who understand the root of Zionism, which is the transformation and eradication of the concept of the traditional Jew and Judaism, these statements are not strange at all. They are to be expected.

The Zionists agreed with Nazism in general, even prior to the advent of Nazism. They believed that Jews could not, and should not, live in harmony in any other society in the world, and that should be removed from those societies for the benefit of those societies. They believed that the new Jewish existence in its own State would remake the image of Jews as “useless” and “parasites.” These ideas existed long before Adolf Hitler!

There is a huge amount of literature describing how the Zionists made it very difficult to save Jews during and after World War II. As various individuals and organizations were trying to arrange departures of Jews to western countries, the Zionists worked overtime to prevent this from happening. They expressed the opinion that building up the Jewish population of Palestine was more important than enabling Jews to go to third countries, and they insisted to western powers that Jews should not be accepted anywhere other than Palestine. Indeed, Yitzchak Greenbaum, a famous Zionist, proclaimed that “one cow in Palestine was worth more than all the Jews in Poland.” The infamous David Ben-Gurion said in 1938:

"If I knew it was possible to save all the children in Germany by taking them to England, and only half of the children by taking them to Eretz Israel, I would choose the second solution. For we must take into account not only the lives of these children but also the history of the people of Israel."

  6. After the war, a Zionist “religious” leader, Rabbi Klaussner, who was in charge of displaced persons presented a report before the Jewish American Conference on May 2nd, 1948 :

"I am convinced people must be forced to go to Palestine...For them, an American dollar appears as the highest of goals. By the word "force", I am suggesting a programme. It served for the evacuation of the Jews in Poland, and in the history of the 'Exodus'... To apply this programme we must, instead of providing 'displaced persons' with comfort, create the greatest possible discomfort for them...At a second stage, a procedure calling upon the Haganah to harass the Jews."
It is ironic that the Zionists proclaim their State as the safe haven for the Jewish People, when since World War II no place on earth has been as dangerous for Jews, both spiritually and physically, as the Zionist state.

The Zionists worked relentlessly to create fear among Jews in the Arab countries after the Zionist state was established. Their tactic work most successfully in Yemen, Morocco, Iraq, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia.

It is common knowledge among Iraqi Jews that during 1949-1950 the famous Zionist, Mordechai ben Porat, who had the nickname of Morad Abu al-Knabel (Mordechai Bomber), was instrumental in seeking to bribe Iraqi officials after the creation of the Zionist state to pass laws to encourage Jews to leave Iraq. This was enhanced by the Zionists planting bombs in synagogues in Baghdad in March 1950. Information about this is readily available on the internet.

The writings of Mr. Naim Giladi document in detail what the Zionists did in Baghdad in 1950 to provoke the departure of the Jews to the Zionist state. The Zionists do not care what effect their policies have on the Jewish communities of any country. When they accuse European nations of every sin under the sun, do the Zionists care that this will produce hostility towards Jews? No! Not a bit. On the contrary, as we have discussed, they thrive on such circumstances, clinging to the vain hope that these Jewish communities will rush for the “salvation” of the “safe haven” of the Zionist Paradise where Jews are in constant danger as the Zionist regime undertakes every form of cruel provocation against non-Jews.

Some remarks in the order of your comments:

Are you referring to "Vayoel Moshe" by the Satmarer Rebbe ?

Thanks a lot for the link on Youtube. About Herzl & Zionism !

Are you sure about the LECHI and their maybe agreement with Hitler ? Do you have any link on that ?

I just know that the Haganah and the Palmach helped the British finding and punishing Lechi, Etzel and Irgun fighters.

  8. "Are you referring to "Vayoel Moshe" by the Satmarer Rebbe ?" Yes, I am!

"Are you sure about the LECHI and their maybe agreement with Hitler ? Do you have any link on that ?" It is a fact and everything I wrote here can be easily verified in Israeli archives, by reading newspapers archives of the time (in Israeli libraries) and by reading the writing of those who were members of the organization at the time.

Everything is available to anyone who knows where to search. The most amazing is that the Israelis didn't even dare to destroy those proofs.
