Jerusalem and even Beit Shemesh are getting more and more expensive. Young haredi couples can hardly afford renting or buying their own apartment in these areas. Now it looks like they have found cheaper places to live. At least for the time being until Tiberias and Safed (northern Israel) also get more expensive.
Chassidut Toldot Aharon are planning to purchase 800 apartments in Safed. This is not that easy, as the group wants to have its own neighbourhood without any starngers disturbing.

Can't understand the Gerrer chassidim living in Arad. Don't they overheat with the clothing?

ReplyDeleteArad is cheap and when you have no money and no place to live - so you may think twice.:-)
The TA got that kind of money? I thought they were in debt because they refused support from the government, or maybe that was TAY. But still 800 apartments, wheres that money coming from?

ReplyDeleteGenerally Satmar is financing the Toldot Aharon as well as private donors.
I don't know where the money comes for the potential 800 apartments. Maybe they found a good source.:-)
