I just bought the MISHPACHA edition and, so far, only looked at the article very briefly. Mishpacha doesn't write too much criticism and the about 5 page article came out very moderate. The Toldot Aharon history, that they have approx. 1000 members today and that the Rebbe keeps on warning young couples not to get deeply into debts.
I will write about the article within the next few days !
I read the English article today. It was also moderate. It talked about the Toldos Aharon history, some of their minhagim, their dress, what type of work they engage in, etc. They did touch on the subject of protests briefly and made the regular claim that the violent protesters are not associated with Toldos Aharon, but when they are the Rebbe is very strict and usually kicks them out. They had some really beautiful stories about the Rebbe, and I was very touched by the topic of his work with Almanos and Yesomim. Overall, it was a very nice article and definitely informative.
After years of living in Jerusalem, I decided to betray the city by moving to Tel Aviv.:-) In the meantime I returned to the Holy City. It is actually very good to be back in Jerusalem !!!
Nevertheless, I am still writing about Jerusalem but also include many other places in Israel.
Until some years ago, I was a Yeshiva (Michlalah) student. First with the national religious and later with the Litvishe. Also got in contact with Chassidut and this subject and lifestyle has never left me.
The english Mishpacha also has a cover story on Toldos Aharon for their Sukkos edition. I wonder if it's the same article translated.
