Synagogue Seats on Rosh HaShana

B"H

Jerusalem's Great Synagogue in King George Street charges 400 Shekels (more than 100 Dollar) for one seat in the Synagogue during the Rosh HaShana service . Chassidut Belz gives out 21,000 Gefilte Fish Meals (members only !)  and Chassidut Vishnitz charges 480 - 1800 Shekels for a Synagogue seat. The old Rebbe Yehoshua Hager is supposed to bless his Chassidim and the closer you want to sit by him, the more expensive your chair.

Prices for the chairs on Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur vary. However, Chabad wants people in and there are no charges for chairs.

I spoke to a Belzer Chassid yesterday and he doesn't know anything about the Rebbe handing out thousands of meals. He does give out Rogelach but that's about it.

The claim was made in the Israeli daily "Yediot Acharonot" but the Belzer Rebbe doesn't give out Gefilte und thus the paper was wrong !
